Savory Cranberry Recipes to Make All Winter Long

Out of sheer curiosity two years ago, my then-fiancé (now husband) and I did a gut microbiome test through Viome. In addition to reporting the general makeup of the gut microbiome, they also give a list of recommended, personalized superfoods. Among the superfoods on my list were beef stock, lamb, and, interestingly, cranberries.
 
The good news was that it was cranberry season, and it was easy to buy bags of cranberries in the grocery store (not a local crop to me at the time). The bad news, was that the only cranberry recipes I knew were full of sugar: cranberry sauce, and my mom’s cherry-cranberry pie.
 
So this became my challenge – find savory cranberry recipes that weren’t chalk full of sweeteners. Some of the first things I tried were combining fresh cranberries with super savory and meaty dishes, where the tartness would be helpful to cut through the fattiness of the dish, but it also wouldn’t need to be sweetened because the cranberries wouldn’t overwhelm the dish.
